Renata Green

Renata Green, flute, is an active chamber musician who performs throughout North America. She has performed twice (2002), (2004) at the White House in Washington, D.C. Her 2002 chamber concert at the Texas Governor's Mansion was filmed for public television. Since 2003, she has performed as a member of Viva Trio with violinist Jennifer Bourianoff and guitarist Tony Morris.

She has participated in numerous music festivals, workshops, and master classes, including the Texas Flute Festival at the University of North Texas, and the Boxwood Traditional Music Camp in Laramie, Wyoming, where she studied with Dorian Recordings artist Chris Norman of the Baltimore Consort.

She began her musical training at age 12 with Centaur Recordings artist Megan Meisenbach. She has also studied with Baroque flute specialist Dr. Marcus McGuff of the early music ensemble "La Follia." Her concert repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to works by living composers, including Argentine composer Jorge Morel, who co-dedicated his "Rapsodia Latina" for flute, guitar, and cello to her in 2001.

In addition to concerts and recitals, she is committed to community outreach, and performs under the auspices of the Friends of Classical Guitar Alive's outreach program, including the Austin Children's Shelter, St. David's Rehab Center, Hospice Austin, the Austin Senior Center, the Salvation Army, and schools and senior centers.
